A Studio With Ethos
Not just what we believe; what we do, who we prioritise, and what people can expect from us.
How we print
Silly Gooze is a working Risograph studio built around good print, practical sustainability, and studio habits that can last.
We use plant-based inks, prioritise better paper choices where possible, and try to reduce waste through reuse, offcut testing, and more thoughtful production.
In practice, this means:
plant-based Riso inks
FSC and recycled paper options where possible
reuse, offcut testing, and less wasteful overproduction
Who we prioritise
We are shaped around queer, trans and neurodivergent life, and around the belief that print should not only be for people who already know the ropes.
We actively make space for artists, makers and community-led projects that are too often pushed to the edge, and try to direct time, care and resources where they can have real impact.
In practice, this means:
underrepresented makers actively reflected in our programming and publishing
reduced rates for eligible CICs, not-for-profits and community-led work
10% of surplus goes to local LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent causes
How people take part
We want people to be able to work with, return to and grow with the studio. That means clear routes in, supported learning, and fewer avoidable barriers.
Our studio has steps, so we work flexibly around access and travel through remote consults, off-site delivery, and other practical alternatives where needed.
In practice, this means:
beginner-friendly workshops and supported print sessions
remote consults, off-site workshops, and flexible support where possible
plain-English teaching, free parking, a gender-neutral toilet, and tea
You don’t have to know what you’re doing.
